Responsibilities: Maintain company directed productivity, training development plan, and comeback performance levels; Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician); Maintain an organized and neat shop; Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur; Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order; Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended; Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician; Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned; Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts; Keep shop area neat and clean; Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events; Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair; Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins; Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards; Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Requirements: 8+ years of related experience in the automotive service environment; Strong verbal communication skills; Valid driver’s license; Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays; 8+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Team player with a positive attitude; Ability to work alone, self motivate and manage one’s own time; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form; Physical ability to use computer hardware/software; Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner; Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean; Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance; Fast learner; Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information; Excellent customer service skills.
